How to apply Vinyl Decals & Stickers
Recommended method - Best for fairly flat surfaces
- Clean the surface well, remove any dirt and grease
- Rip off two small pieces of masking tape and hang the decal in its desired location.
- Apply a strip of masking tape to the top of your decal, half on the decal, half on the application surface, this will be used as a hinge.
- Remove the two original pieces of masking tape.
- Hinge the decal out and carefully remove backing sheet, ensuring that the sticker remains on the application tape (top layer).
- Lower the decal down rubbing it onto the surface with a squeegee or credit card as you go.
- Once the decal is applied, carefully remove the application tape (top layer).
- If you have any bubbles don't stress, these can be popped using a pin and pushed down.
- Grab a brew and pat yourself on the back ;)
Alternative Method - Best for rounded surfaces
- Clean the application surface well, remove any dirt and grease.
- Mix up a spray bottle full of water with 2 drops of dishwashing liquid (dishwashing liquid not essential but helpfull slowing the adhesive process).
- Spray the application surface well.
- Peel the decal off the backing paper.
- Apply the decal to the application surface and rub out any bubbles.
- Leave the decal and surface to dry.
- CAREFULLY peel the application tape off the decal, if the decal peels up, it needs more time to dry.
- If you have any bubbles don't stress, these can be popped using a pin and pushed down, any tiny bubbles will dissipate with time.
- Grab a brew and pat yourself on the back ;)
